Elvis Presley - King of the Whole Wide World - From First Take to the Master

Elvis recorded "King of the Whole Wide World" in Hollywood at Radio Recorders' Studio B on 27 October 1962 and the final take, number 4, was chosen as the master although Elvis had attempted a mammoth thirty one takes the previous day without achieving a satisfactory take although the final take was subsequently classified as "The Alternate Master". The RCA master recorded on 27 October originally lasted 2 minutes and 40 seconds although this was faded after just two minutes and five seconds before being classified as the master and allocated catalogue number RPA1 7391. As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
