Walking along Lebuh Melayu in George Town, Penang at around 7:00 PM. This walk begins at the junction of Lebuh Victoria and Lebuh Melayu, passing by food spots such as Oh My Bingsu and Teow Kee Beef Noodle. As we continue along the street, we reach the junction of Lebuh Pantai where a popular Koay Teow Th’ng stall is located. Lebuh Melayu offers a quieter side of George Town in the evening, with rows of heritage shophouses that house a mix of traditional businesses, art studios, cafes, restaurants, cocktail bars, and local food spots. Many of these businesses operate during the day, giving the street a more relaxed and calm atmosphere in the late evening. Along the walk, we pass by a local community centre (KRT) where residents gather and socialise, including seniors singing karaoke in the open. The route also goes through Lorong Ikan, Bao Teck Tea House (listed in the Michelin Guide), and ends near the junction of Lebuh Carnarvon where Ping Hooi Coffee Shop is located.
