Ercan ATA / ENGLAND, (DHA) - Buse Naz Çakıroğlu advanced to the semifinals of the women's 51-kilogram (196-pound) World Boxing Championships in England. Olympic runner-up, European and World champion Buse Naz Çakıroğlu competed in the women's 51-kilogram (196-pound) category during the evening session of the World Boxing Championships at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool. She faced Zareen Nikhat of India in the quarterfinals. Despite receiving a warning in the second round, Çakıroğlu, with her experience, defeated Zareen Nikhat of India 5-0 to advance to the semifinals once again. Buse Naz, who won the gold medal in Istanbul at the 2022 World Championships, also won silver in Serbia in 2019 and again this year. By advancing to the semifinals, the national athlete secured her fourth medal at the World Championships. Çakıroğlu will face Feruza Kazakova from Uzbekistan in the semifinals on Saturday, September 13th.
