(2021) Dacia Duster Prestige LPG - Kompaktes SUV mit alternativem Antrieb - Autogas vs Diesel - Test
There's really not much more to say about the Dacia Duster. The compact SUV is now too well-known for its cheap image. Advertising does its bit to position it as a car for people who don't need a status symbol. The spacious Duster recently received a facelift that significantly upgrades its appearance, both inside and out. It remains to be hoped that those responsible have also worked on the reliability and longevity of their products, because cars built in Romania don't fare well in the statistics of TÜV and other inspection bodies. On the other hand, the Duster, in its most modest configuration, costs just under 12,000 euros. However, there are hardly any discounts on these prices. In any case, at these prices, Dacia buyers are more likely to accept one or two shortcomings. Quite a few Dacia drivers express their enthusiasm for their Dacias in various forums. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Feel free to visit our leasing partner Null-Leasing.com, where you'll find great deals and a wide selection of vehicles. https://www.null-leasing.com/leasing-... (*Advertising) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We've now picked up the 4.34-liter Duster with what we consider a particularly interesting engine variant. It's a 1-liter 3-cylinder engine that produces 101 hp, delivers 170 Newton meters of torque, and can be run on either LPG or premium gasoline. With this engine, the Duster is obviously not a sporty SUV, but in my opinion, it's still adequate. Anyone who wants to tow a trailer should try to see if the power is still sufficient. A maximum trailer load of 13,000 kg is permitted. The Duster's roof (rails are provided) can also carry 75 kilograms of luggage, and the trunk itself can hold between 445 and 1,478 liters. If you want to save money while driving, you should make sure to use gas as much as possible and use the gas tank as rarely as possible. Gas costs only around €7 per 100 kilometers, while gasoline for the same distance in the Duster costs around €14. Unfortunately, the gas-only range is limited to approximately 330 to 350 kilometers. And only one in four gas stations in Germany currently offers LPG. This can lead to time-consuming and frustrating searches for LPG. On the other hand, you still have the gasoline tank, which lasts up to 550 kilometers. In total, this gives you a range of just under 1,000 kilometers. We collected these values over approximately 1,500 test kilometers, so these are not standard values. The larger the gasoline share, the smaller the fuel price advantage becomes. This is something to be aware of. The most comparable diesel Duster costs around €3,000 more, and with an assumed fuel consumption of 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers and a diesel price of €1.25, the fuel costs per 100 kilometers come to just over €8. So, anyone who regularly uses the LPG option will find the gas Duster cheaper. Firstly, because the purchase price is around €3,000 lower, secondly, because the vehicle tax is lower, and thirdly, because the fuel costs per kilometer are slightly lower. However, as soon as the gasoline share of the kilometers driven predominates, the cost pendulum swings toward diesel. But as we know, there are more and more people who reject diesel engines, even if their CO2 emissions are lower than those of a comparable gasoline engine. Another thing to consider: LPG is cheaper than gasoline, not least because the tax rate on gas is lower. However, this advantage is declining. Starting in 2013, the LPG tax rate will increase from the current 19.65 cents per liter to 22.09 cents per liter. This is actually a tax increase that is difficult to understand, since LPG burns with lower CO2 emissions than gasoline or diesel. Nevertheless, driving with LPG will still be cost-effective starting in 2023 – assuming the LPG price itself remains stable.
