This, of course, requires integrating these final stages into the preliminary work, but it should never be considered, prescribed, or, above all, carried out without having addressed the preceding issues. In other words, the concern for thermal comfort is important and legitimate, and this comfort achieved with lower energy consumption is also valuable. However, beyond performance, what matters is durability, longevity, and health—not only in terms of what will be done during a renovation or improvement project, but more broadly in terms of the relationship between the dwelling and its inhabitants, and in preserving the integrity of the building.
