DON'T BE MISLED | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (November 16, 2025) with Sign Language

Today is the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time. The liturgical year is already drawing to a close. We shall soon celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King and begin the Advent Season. How should we prepare? Jesus, in today’s gospel, tells his listeners. Do not be deceived by those who say they are the Lord. Do not be terrified by wars and insurrections, earthquakes, famines, plagues, and different signs from the sky because such events must happen first. Persevere when you are arrested and persecuted and give a testimony to the Lord, he himself will teach you what to say. In other words, brothers and sisters, the Lord is telling us that in the face of deceit, chaos, and persecution, we must remain steadfast in faith. And the promise? “[N]ot a hair on your head will be destroyed.” We see the proof in Jesus’s glorious resurrection, where death—and all that led to it—was placed on his footstool. God is true to his Word always. Focus on him, trust in him, and persevere with him. Do not be deceived by false lords.
