This is because JR Tokai has begun a "boring survey" to check the ground's stability before the line passes through Nara Prefecture. Based on this, the people of Nara Prefecture have said, "Give up on Kyoto. It's Nara Prefecture, after all," and there are positive discussions within Nara Prefecture about "where should we stop the station?" On the other hand, when you go to Kyoto, you still hear people saying, "No, we don't accept it. A survey is a survey." However, there are also Kyoto citizens who say, "We don't need any more tourists," so I wanted to mention that as well. Japan's high-speed rail has long been a diplomatic tool. Because the Japanese people admire speed, the Shinkansen has been promoted as an export to various countries. Currently, Japan is aggressively pursuing India. When Prime Minister Modi visited Japan, then-Prime Minister Ishiba acted as his guide. It also has great potential as a tourist resource. Himeji Station is particularly noteworthy.
