The Cauldron - O'Carolan's Draught / Receipt for Drinking
A couple of O'Carolan harp tunes believed to be about whiskey. Not much appears to be known about the Draught. Regarding the Receipt (aka as Dr. John Stafford), there is more documentation. It is noted that O'Carolan feeling poorly and was instructed by his friend and physician, Dr. Stafford to abstain from the drink, but as his condition worsened, to O'Carolan's delight, Dr. Stafford wrote for him a receipt to take up the whiskey again. This is O'Carolan's celebratory tune.
