Valencia Cathedral is an open book that could tell the story of the city's history over more than 800 years. Through its foundations, one can explore the history of the city from the conquest of the city by King James I, which led to the construction of the main part of the current church, to the Civil War. But today, it is also a living space, steeped in history and religiosity, which has also become a jubilee temple and the epicenter of pilgrimages for the Chalice of Mercy. The conference "Valencia Cathedral: A History of Almost 800 Years" is part of the Masterclass Series and will review the interior evolution of the Cathedral with the canon, archivist and librarian of Valencia Cathedral, the Most Illustrious Mr. Vicente Pons Alós. Since 2008, he has been Canon Archivist and Librarian of the Cathedral of Valencia. He received the Extraordinary Degree Award from the University of Valencia in the 1981-82 academic year. He earned his doctorate in Geography and History, History Section, from the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia in 1987 with the thesis "Valencian Wills in the 13th-16th Centuries. Wills, Family, and Mentalities in Valencia at the End of the Middle Ages."
