How to Sight In Your Rifle

You’ve got a new optic mounted on your rifle and it’s time to sight in or “zero” your setup. Zeroing can be boring, tedious, and frustrating, but it is also absolutely critical. How do we sight-in quickly and efficiently, using the minimum amount of time and ammo? Do we need a lot of expensive equipment? Is there some trick that the pros know and keep to themselves? I needed to sight in my new Kentucky Long 2-12x RECCE, so follow along step by step as I show you my actual sight in procedure as I get ready to use this rifle and scope in an upcoming MIL/MRAD Reticle Wars video. I’ll show you what equipment you need, what equipment is helpful but not necessary, and every time-saving trick I know. A total of 9 rounds are fired, and all done. But how to sight in isn’t the whole story, so I’ll take you inside the scope and show what actually happens when you count clicks and make those adjustments. With a full understanding of what physically happens when we make scope adjustments, you’ll be ready for a sight-in that’s short and sweet.
