Keiko Fujimori recibió credenciales como Presidenta de la República
This morning, Keiko Fujimori was officially presented with her credentials as the president-elect of Peru, following her victory over Roberto Sánchez in the second round of elections held on Sunday, June 7. During the ceremony organized by the National Elections Board (JNE), Fujimori Higuchi delivered a speech outlining some of the policies she intends to implement during her administration. Her remarks were analyzed by Jennifer Infantas, who shared her opinion on the president-elect's key messages. In an interview with 24 Horas Mediodía, Infantas indicated that the leader of Fuerza Popular has clearly defined the objectives she plans to implement in the country. She also suggested that the first results of her administration should begin to be seen before the end of the year. “It’s a good sign that she’s very clear about wanting to build legitimacy in government (…) She not only has to rebuild the country in terms of institutions and governance, but also build her own legitimacy (…) These are good signs (…) She should focus on three key areas during her first 100 days (…) The country’s main problems are security, the economy, employment, and attracting investment,” she stated. Keiko Fujimori Must Adopt the Mindset of a Head of State According to Jennifer Infantas’ analysis, Keiko Fujimori must leave behind her role as a candidate and fully embrace the mindset of an elected president, given the responsibilities she will face from the start of her administration. “From now on, she is no longer a candidate. Her mindset must be that of an elected president,” she maintained. Finally, Infantas indicated that the president-elect should appoint qualified professionals and trained technical teams to fill the main public positions. “We need to find a combination of expertise and technical teams that respond to political management. In the last government, we saw a senseless filling of positions,” he concluded.
