These units were the only preserved, very sought after by collectors around the world. BMW R75: The BMW R75 was a combination of motorcycle and sidecar produced by the German company BMW during World War II. BMW already produced a number of popular and highly effective motorcycles, and developed the R75 in response to the request of the German army (Wehrmacht) of a machine more off-road capability. BMW then developed a technically advanced machine in which the third wheel on the sidecar was connected by a shaft to the rear wheel of the motorcycle making practical purposes on a tricycle. Equipped with an adjustable differential lock in changing the position of road to off-road, to apply different gear ratio. The R75 was very maneuverable and capable on most surfaces. It even reverse. The BMW R75 and its rival the Zündapp KS 750 were both widely used by the Wehrmacht on the eastern front and in the North African campaign, but after a period of evaluation was very clear that the Zündapp was a superior machine. In August 1942 both models towards standardization between the two machines, converged in a hybrid model Zündapp-BMW (designated BW 43) in which the sidecar of the BMW 286/1 was coupled to the Zündapp KS 750. This so BMW and Zündapp began to focus its production on this model, reaching 20,000 units per year. BMW R75BMW War II military sidecarsWorld military motorcycles of Germany
