Artist Talk: Buzz Spector

There are very few distinct lines in nature, so the task of an artist rendering forms is one of making lines stand in for edges, delineating forms in space as boundaries on a plane. If a drawn line is an edge, can a material edge, as on a sheet of torn paper, be understood as a drawn line? This philosophical question extends toward a complex of other boundaries: of perception, identity, memory, and ethics.
