Roller bolster pillow for bobbin lace/ DIY using a Pool Noodle

So I decided to remake my roller bolster pillow and make it better, maybe. Hopefully this helps someone out there who wants to get into bobbin lace but doesn't want to buy the real pillows. Things I used: Foam Pool noodle- (I had to buy this) I used the larger size found at walmart. If you do use the smaller ones you may have to add more batting to make it slightly larger. Batting- quilting batting or old fabric that you have to wrap around the foam noodle- you may need several layers. ( I already had some in my stash) Wood Dowel- I used the larger version which is what I had on hand. You will need to cut it to size (in my stash) Hot glue (stash) Sewing skills either hand sew or machine- you don't even need to sew if you plan on just gluing. (already own a sewing machine) Fabric (stash) Time Patience I didn't show this in the video but in order to get your dowel to sit properly you need to cut a small piece of foam, from your left over noodle, to add it to the hole of the foam noodle you are using. You will also need to glue this in and cut a X so you can push the dowel through to the other side. PS I was looking up different types of pillows and I recently found out that is type is called a French pillow there are detailed instructions in a book that I found on archive.org. The book is called, The Complete book of English bobbin lace by Pamela Nottingham some day I may give this a try for now I will stick to my cardboard and hot glue version. :) #bobbinlace #diycrafts #bolsterpillow
