MARIA MONTESSORI | La vida de la creadora del MÉTODO MONTESSORI | Biografía

Maria Montessori was a famous Italian doctor and pedagogue, promoter of scientific pedagogy, who created the so-called Montessori method. In this documentary video in Spanish I tell you about his life and his work, as well as his educational theories. #montessori #biography #mariamontessori In 1900, the Orthophrenic Magistral School, a medical-pedagogical institute to train teachers in the education of children with intellectual disabilities, was opened in Italy, and Montessori was appointed co-director. During his two years there, he educated over a hundred teachers and perfected and developed new tools and materials that he would later adapt for use with any child. That school had a classroom where Montessori and the teachers in training put their new methods into practice, teaching classes to children without intellectual disabilities but who had been labeled "ineducable." After their training, these children were able to pass the same exams that were given to all those of the same age. From those test results he drew two conclusions: that no child was uneducated, and that the education of children without disabilities was at a lower level than it should be. Montessori, with the idea that her special education methods could be applied to general education, left the Orthophrenic Magisterial School and began to develop what she called "scientific pedagogy": she carried out experimental research in various primary schools, following the scientific method, to develop your educational materials and teaching philosophy based on actual results and not just hypotheses and conjectures. In 1906, Montessori was invited to supervise the care and education of a group of working-class boys from the San Lorenzo neighborhood in Rome. And she, eager to put his methods into practice, was delighted to accept. In January 1907, he opened the Casa dei Bambini, that is, the Children's House, in which more than 50 children between 3 and 7 years old were registered. Thank you for visiting my channel.
