TSDZ16 Speed Test with NuVinci n380 IGH - Cannot pedal past 10 MPH

Speed testing new TSDZ16 Torque e-assist motor, with a NuVinci n380 variable speed rear hub. Could not pedal faster than 10 MPH. Throttle got me to 15 MPH rather quickly. Edit: Had recently swapped to a 9 speed cassette and the issues went away. n380: The way it was explained to me, the n380 hub transfers torque throughout the hub, which in turn robs the torque the TSDZ16 is providing. End effect was 'going nowhere very fast.' Essentially while one end is generating the force needed, the other end is negating it -- thus created this undesirable effect. If you intend to run a NuVinci n380, stick with a Cadence motor. Had run an M625 with the n380 for 5+ years without any issues. Was only when swapping over to a Torque motor was when these issues came about. *** Through more research the best two rear hubs would be a 3X3 or a Rohloff. ••• Would gladly mount a 3X3 as it provides a massive 554% total gear ratio, and be able to withstand up to 250 Nm of input torque. ••• TSDZ16 can generate 160 Nm of torque, and the 3X3 will not be affected. • • • Cost is the other issue, and tariffs, as it is a German crafted hub.
