Thankfully I found a hospital parking lot and turned the dOOminator's nose into the wind! It's not obvious in the video, but the car was being rocked and while I doubt I was in any danger of being flipped, I was somewhat concerned about being pushed, so I kept the car in park, the brake to the floor, and the parking brake engaged. Shelf cloud becomes visible at about 8:00. Rain starts at 12:00 and goes from drizzle to downpour in a matter of seconds. Wind intensifies around 12:30. #derecho #stormchasing
