Frontotemporal Dementia & Emerging Therapies for Dementia
Bruce Miller, M.D., made key research insights into the neurobiology behind dementia. He specifically studies frontotemporal dementia, investigating what parts of the brain govern personality control mechanisms. In his keynote address, Miller speaks about innovations in caregiving and treatment — including nonmedical interventions —that can improve quality of life for patients with dementia. The Oskar Fischer Lecture Series, led by The University of Texas at Austin’s Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences, is a campus-wide series featuring invited scholars working at the vanguard of new ideas on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of dementing illnesses.
