La Coupole: The Secret V-2 Rocket Base That Could Have Changed World War II Would you dare to enter a gigantic underground fortress built to launch the most advanced rockets of World War II? It is impossible to visit La Coupole without reflecting on this contrast: a technology created to destroy cities ended up helping to propel space exploration.
