Targeted Exercise Selection in Rehabilitation
Dr. Scotty Butcher, AKA The Strength Jedi, discusses the framework used to determining what exercises are part of a rehabilitation program. Using the concept of “function first”, which is a staple in cardioresp and neurorehab, but has been less prevalent in MSK/ortho practice areas - until recently, he presents the Top Down-Bottom Up approach to exercise selection. This approach is a step up from the Old School levels of selection (local-regional-global) and integrates function much faster.
