The SMSL D200 ($319) is a desktop digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and preamplifier. It uses a ROHM BD34352EKV DAC chip with SMSL’s CK-03 clock circuit and a fully balanced preamp stage. The unit supports Bluetooth playback with LDAC and aptX HD, MQA/MQA-CD decoding, and has a 1.9-inch laminated glass display for Bluetooth track information and lyrics. The D200 complements SMSL’s 200 series, alongside the PA200 Gallium Nitride power amplifier and the PL200 MQA-CD transport. Together, these three units can form a stack where the PL200 reads CDs, the D200 decodes, and the PA200 amplifies, with optional G1 external clock support for synchronized timing.
