Decades of cooking with firewood had coated the walls with thick smoke, turning everything dark and dusty. There was no proper kitchen counter, no clean space to store bowls and dishes—just old makeshift pieces of wood that had been used for far too long. When we first stepped into her home, we could feel both the hardship she endured and the quiet strength she carried.
