I Turned a Nokia into a Half-Life PC, Is It Even Possible?
Can the original PC version of Half-Life become a surprisingly convincing desktop gaming experience… on a Nokia phone? It all started with an original 20-year-old copy of Half-Life Platinum Edition. After installing the game from the original discs on Windows XP, I set out to push one of Nokia’s most iconic phones far beyond what it was ever designed to do. Things didn’t exactly go according to plan. From game crashes and failed Bluetooth peripherals to USB adapters, and a very unusual keyboard, this project became much more of an experiment than I expected. How close can an old Nokia get to becoming a Half-Life PC? ⸻ Huge thanks to Dante Leoncini for creating the Xash3D Symbian port and keeping projects like this possible. Be sure to check out his work!
