Columbia University student rips up degree in pro-Palestine protest during graduation

A pro-Palestine student ripped up her diploma during a Columbia University graduation ceremony. Joy Lind van Hasselt also had her hands tied together and wore a keffiyeh. It was one of many protests by the university’s school of social work. The university has been at the centre of the anti-Israel student movement, sparking nationwide protests.
