I found a highly recommended button customization for the EOS R5, so I wanted to share it with you all. I haven't confirmed it, but I think it will probably work on the R6 as well. As of August 2020, this setting wasn't possible on the 1DX3. You can choose between thumb AF or shutter release. You can also reverse the roles of the AF-ON and R button if you like.
