Sri Chinmoy's Sister Lily - Celebrating Her Birthday on October 27

Sri Chinmoy's sister Lily-di was a very special member of his family. She came to New York from India to visit her beloved brother for over six months, starting in February 1978. This is a slideshow presentation produced by Liudmyla Lebedeva that features archival photos of Lily Ghose with members of the Sri Chinmoy Centre from that time, along with photos of her and the rest of the family in India. The songs are performed by the Sri Chinmoy Bhajan Singers, led by Ms. Ranjana K. Ghose. Regarding the Lily song "Kabe amar dip shikhati" that Sri Chinmoy set to music and the Bhajan Singers performed, he said: "The words of this song are by Lily. My sister Lily’s words I set to music many years ago. It is one of my most favourite songs. The meaning is, 'I do not know when you will kindle the flame of aspiration in my heart.' My sister Lily’s Ashram life was made of sacrifice, sacrifice for her brother. Sacrifice is the only word I can use for her."
