With nearly 1,400 records, it will gather biographical information on artists and establish links between painters, institutions, and other actors in the viceregal art scene, expanding the possibilities for research and historical analysis. Developed by academics Rogelio Ruiz Gomar and Pedro Ángeles Jiménez, the project expands and digitizes the information contained in Manuel Toussaint's book, "Mexican Colonial Painting." Based on curated and structured data according to international standards, the repository fosters collaboration among specialists and institutions, strengthening open access to knowledge and the preservation, organization, and dissemination of cultural and artistic heritage.
