It is such a powerful song with such self reflection and personal growth. We did our best to delivery our interpretation. Every piece was carefully thought out. The outfit is all white to reflect the pure love and innocence they have for each other. The fan is white and black to represent your pure love being tainted by darkness and sadness after a heart break. This dance goes through a self reflection as the woman grieves, is in pain and in sadden over the man. She begins to heal and realizes her worth and breaks through her toxic cycle of self destruction/sadness and hatred It starts out as a typical love innocent love story which ended in heart break, they try to work things out but it doesn’t work and they officially go their separate ways and the anger is that is felt for all that was done for the him performed by Peev Xwm and Adele. Short solo performed by Ashynda on “Vim yav tag wb” represents the lowest point after a break up when you feel defeated and feel scattered, time is moving but you aren’t (the transition). Aeriyanna does an amazing job at performing the next portion on “lub sij hawm kawg twb los txog” which shows the time in the break up where you want to go get back together again but it’s too late. Next mini solo belongs to Naly as she represents the angry and bitterness you come to have towards the person (fan come out). This point on she realizes her self worth more and more which was portrayed by Savannah elegantly doing her solo. Then Sophia comes in and represents the women’s growth (the burst with the fan on the word lub sij hawm kawg twb los txog) showing that she has now changed into a powerful independent individual. And at the end of dance, he comes back wants to rekindle but she has officially moved on (ending pose) which is where he will have to begin his own healing process. Moral of the story, you’re worth more than you know and no matter how much you try to work things out sometimes you just aren’t meant to be together and you do more harm together than apart.
