Check the video description for my armor and drink skills. Silver Rathalos doesn't deserve a fair fight. Normally this hunt is just the Rathalos doing spins, charges and bites for eternity until it finally decides to get off the ground, which nets you very little damage as it is. Using Felyne Dungmaster and dung bombs, we can force the Rathalos to attempt to take off every other move, guaranteeing big and consistent damage throughout the hunt. All that being said, this still fucking sucked. Hitting the wing just as it lifts off the ground but not too early is harder than it looks. Also, hitting the wing when it does jumpback fireballs is incredibly inconsistent due to wall collision, the followup it decides to use, and janky hitboxes. The place it decides to take off from when trying to escape can be very random and hard to keep up with depending on where it's standing at the time. Also, you have to pay very close attention to when the dung bomb wears off, because it will resume its normal behavior, and no, you can't throw another dung bomb to reset the timer--stacking dung bombs doesn't do anything. I use an adamant seed because sometimes the Jaggis just want to murder you. You can take three attacks before dying instead of two, or one attack plus one Jaggi tackle, which does the most damage. Also, there's no need to raise my attack power because otherwise a level 2 could go over the stagger limit on a sweetspot. I make one mistake and that's doing a level 1 just short of a 2 near the end of the hunt. Luckily it didn't matter. I also manage to miss the back both times in the pitfall trap. As usual, I use bombs at the start of the hunt to lower my HP to activate Felyne Heroics, which gives me a 1.35x attack boost. This is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Version on a PlayStation 3.
