PLEASE be aware that I am NOT a professional and that I am simply sharing my own do-it-yourself solution which may, or may not, be appropriate for your situation. Pricing update as of 01-27-25 Menards is likely the best pricing for the part as I just checked their website and see they are only $26ea SKU: 2289232 Quick and easy, plus cheap, repair of buckling panel garage door. I made this video after watching another helpful one I watched on YouTube, but thought I could do it even better. I came up with my own even easier fix and wanted to share it. NOTE: A viewer reported the bars I used can be found at Menards at quite a discount from Home Depot or Lowes (viewer reported $30ea at Lowes on 03-20-22). And, another viewer reported getting a full 16' strut for $18 at Menards (Dec 2018) that he used instead of the short bars I used and said it was quite easy as well. UPDATE - On 11-05-21 a viewer sent me an email comment but I think they then immediately deleted it. They mentioned buying a strut kit from https://www.fivestardoors.com/garage-... so I checked that out and will at least mention this commercial repair option (I am not affiliated with them nor am I selling anything). They have an interesting DIY product, but it's still nowhere near the simplicity and low cost of the solution I present here. Also, they make comments on their website that mock DIY solutions like mine and label viewers "gullible" for trying them. Well, just scan through the comments of my video and NOT A SINGLE viewer who tried my technique has reported anything but the utmost praise and success! Any negative comments all appear to be repair companies or their techs, but I still appreciate their advice just the same if it is respectful. I am shocked at the large number of views of this video and am thrilled that it has proven to be a very viable repair option that so many have benefited from it. Thank you all!
