Actress Atsuko Maeda received the "Interpet Best Pet Smile Award," given to celebrities who lead "rich, ideal lives with pets," and attended the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on March 30th. This marks the third time the award has been presented. The first recipient was talent Izumi Mori, and the second recipients were actresses Sawa Suzuki, Miyu Honda, and singer Kaori Mochida. The awards ceremony was held at the 7th annual Interpets International Pet Industry Fair, a fair for enriching lives with people and pets. Maeda was selected for her pet-filled lifestyle, with two cats living with her, as well as nine cats and six dogs at her parents' home. Her American Shorthair, Potts, also participated in the photo session that day.
