A crime scene investigation revealed bloodstains and marks indicating the perpetrator had been wounded and was bleeding profusely. The blood trail continued to a room registered to one Aaron Durning. A pool of blood was visible near the room, and it appeared someone had attempted to clean it up. Inside the room, police found blood-stained towels, sheets, and an open bar of soap with blood stains. Another trail of blood led from the room to the parking lot. Following it, officers found another piece of bloody cloth and a trash bag similar to the one used at the motel. The previous evening, according to the motel manager, Daniel Durning had come to the front desk several times and asked for replacement keys for the room registered to his brother, Aaron. On one occasion, Daniel even asked for a key to Lisa Barbery's room, claiming she had stolen his. CCTV footage shows Aaron and Daniel Durning entering Lisa's room shortly before her death. What happened next in that room defies explanation. On November 23, 2015, the brothers were arrested by the Marion County Sheriff's Office. According to the police report, Aaron Durning had a cut on his forehead, and Daniel Durning had a cut on his arm, which likely caused the bloody trail on the floor leading to their room. This is an extremely violent and horrific case. YouTube will likely restrict this video and not promote it.
