IFTTT Just RUINED My Smart Home | IFTTT Pro

IFTTT have just ruined their platform and taken half the smart home industry with it. IFTTT released IFTTT Pro a few days ago for the ridiculous price of $9.99 per month, and in the process decided to completely devalue their free platform to the point it is basically unusable. You have already bought products that came with "works with IFTTT" stamped on the box and in my opinion what that means shouldn't change AFTER you bought the product. You already paid for IFTTT when you bought those devices, and they should remain in place for the lifetime of those devices. If you're wondering does this affect Alexa and Google Home, the answer is no. BUT... this does still affect you. Even if you don't currently use IFTTT you will soon discover that as your smart home grows you will want to find ways to integrate 3rd party products such as Philips Hue, Lifx, Ring, Broadlink, Lightwave RF and any other Smart Home service provider.
