Bendigo Area Rail Action inc. SSR's new Broad Gauge BGUY's & PN Grain- 20th-22nd August 2024

Video from around Bendigo from the 20th to the 2nd of August 2024 featuring the weekly SSR workshops transfer, as well as a couple of Piangil grain trains from Pacific National and SSR, the latter of which featured the first run of SSR's new Broad Gauge BGUY hoppers. Starting with the transfer, the northbound 9083 was captured at Golden Square with SSR's P18 and P17 leading Railfirst's VL360, the first of its' type to visit Bendigo in two years and headed for the workshops for bogie work while the P's returned south with T386 and led by S311 on 9084, seen at Kangaroo Flat. Early the following morning it's back to Kangaroo Flat for SSR's 9095 grain, the first regular 40 hopper run for Louis Dreyfus' Appleton Dock terminal and featuring N464 leading S317, S311 and N466, the consist including SSR's brand new BGUY hoppers, barely 48 hours after they were unloaded from the ship they arrived on. We then head for Bendigo to see 9095 again, but also catch Pacific National's 9056 from Piangil to North Geelong with XR's 550, 554 and 552 in charge. Finally, early on the 26th, we see the now loaded SSR grain headed back south as 9096 from Piangil to Appleton Dock with N466, S311, S317 and N464 powering towards Big Hill.
