We took our family of three on a 5-day Vanlife / Car Camping trip around Tokyo Disneyland in our DIY camper. No hotel. Hotel cost: $0. We spent 4 nights mostly in coin parking lots, making the best of our tiny home on wheels. The first half of the trip was all about exploring Tokyo Disneyland while living in our camper. The second half was a work trip to appear at the Tokyo Camping Car Show. Things didn't exactly go as planned—we spent almost $70 just on public baths, and on the way home a highway closure forced us into an unexpected overnight stop. Turns out, Tokyo doesn't go easy on you. This is the real life of a 48-year-old guy, traveling with his family in a Jill 520 camper.
