We Got a Backhoe! | Case 580C Rescue Mission

We tracked down an old Case 580C backhoe that had been sitting out in a field for years — a little rough, a few flat tires, but too good to leave behind. Armed with my International service truck and a LeRoi towable air compressor, I set out to get this old workhorse home. Things didn’t go exactly as planned — the compressor quit on me halfway through, so I had to get creative and use the truck’s air brake tank to fill the backhoe tires. Once aired up and checked over, I fired it up, drove it all the way home, and even moved a bit of dirt at the end of the day just to see what she could still do.
