Brain Injury & the EMS Worker by BIARI
"Brain Injury and the EMS Worker" is a presentation created through the partnership between BIARI and the RIDOH. It takes a look at national and state data trends on brain injury and the populations most affected by brain injury. It includes some Brain Injury 101, as well as what signs & symptoms a first responder may encounter when interacting with a brain injured person. Special attention is given to CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) techniques EMS may utilize and what support the Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island has to offer as part of a collaborative effort of state agencies to improve outcomes for brain injury survivors and their families.
