Ep 149 | Checking in and Checking Out Hiva Oa, Marquesas, French Polynesia, Sailing Nutshell

After 25 days at sea we finally arrive in Hiva Oa, Marquesas, to check in, explore the island and hunt for fresh produce. This episode follows our first days ashore, supply‑ship arrivals, baguette missions and a visit to a nearby beach anchorage. We arrive at Hiva Oa, Marquesas, French Polynesia, after 25 days at sea. It’s time to check in and have a look around and try to find some fresh produce. We do the 3 km hike up and over the hill to the little village, but there isn’t much fresh stuff to purchase. We need to wait for the supply ship to replenish the shelves. But we do manage to get baguettes which makes us really happy. A couple of supply ships turn up so we replenish our stores. After a few days at Hiva Oa we head off to the nearby island to check out a beach anchorage and then head back to Hiva Oa to the north side of the island.
