Joyful Hermit Speaks: A Helpful Visit with Pseido-Macarius

Joyful Hermit shares a wonderfully helpful visit with friend, Macarius--likely (the hermit researched and has now learned) from Upper Mesopotamia. His homilies (sermons) and The Great Letter are likely written 4th c. Doubtful he is Macarius, but some other person with a name not known, so he is now referred to as "Pseudo Macarius"--and will be throughout history. The hermit visited with this Syrian monk today, going over the monk's thoughts expressed in his Fifth Homily. Pseudo-Macarius reminds the hermit to focus on God Alone! He mentions the need to let go of all attachments in order to reach the goal the hermit has, and rightly so (says "Macarius"), to attain eternal glory: Heaven! Also, the hermit would like to be a better, improved, Spirit-filled soul of God so that the hermit can be utilized (should God will) in any helpfulness for souls on earth or in Heaven--in other words, to be for God and in God, whatever God desires of this hermit alive here and now on earth. In this video, Joyful Hermit shares what "Pseudo-Macarius" has to "say" about these matters, including who in Scripture in addition to Jesus, we can have as an example of how to detach from the temporal world and our inner and outer attachments. Hope you enjoy this brief meeting with Hermit's dear. wise, and holy friend. No better means for us than to get help from a former Syrian monk who's soul is perfected and one with God-is-Pure-Love.
