Dr. Marvin Malek, MD, MPH with concentration in health policy and management from Harvard School of Public Health and preceptor for the Northern New England Health policy internship program answers the question, "What is Public health and what does it entail?" He discusses the emphasis on "the community" in the world of public health unlike medicine which is predominantly focused on "individual". The recording also highlights the types of prevention and different ways to develop framework of prevention strategies. Lastly, the presentation delves into different prevention strategies used in the past to tackle public health issues like tobacco smoking in US, putting the concepts learnt during the presentation into perspective.
