Using the Sole F85 2023 Treadmill in Zwift

I struggled at the beginning to get all of my devices to connect to Zwift the way I wanted. Simply: I wanted the F85 as the speed and distance truth source. I wanted my Garmin 965 status to be displayed on the F85's workout tab. I wanted my HRM Pro Plus for HR and running metrics. Without a separate strap, the Garmin stats will never match the treadmill. The were off by +/- .5 miles on a 5K run. But with the strap, I used the F85 speed / distance to calibrate the strap for indoor runs. But best I can tell, the F85 started supporting Zwift with the 2019+ model year. I'm suppressing commentary on Sole not changing the model but changing the model capability year after year. But what's new for the 2023 model version is the Sole+ App which allows you to control the F85, etc. and that you can also pair certain Garmin watches, in my case, Forerunner 965 so that the F85 gets HR data from the watch displayable on the console. But for my Win11 setup, Zwift would not show any available BT devices. Sole technical support was not able to help. And most other online sources were discussing other models. At some point in troubleshooting, I turned off BT on my phone. Suddenly I could pair Zwift with the TM and do a run. And then it made sense: The available devices could not pair with Zwift because they only supported one connection and they were all paired with something else. So now I first disable BT on my phone while I boot up Zwift. Disabling BT on my phone guarantees it's neither connected to my watch via Garmin Connect nor available to connect to the F85 (via the Sole+ app) when I power it on. Then I power on the F85 which will pretty quickly connect to Zwift and 20 seconds later the Garmin watch. My HRM Pro Plus functions as both HR and Cadence sensor. I tried the older Garmin Foot Pod, but the calibration was never correct. Running in Zwift is free if you create your account but cancel out of any of the subscription options. But note that Zwift just gives you an environment to run in. It doesn't control your treadmill speed or incline.
