Motobécane began its engine development with the AV3 series, the first of which were based on the engines of its famous Poney but with a displacement reduced to 49 cc. Then, with the development of clutches and especially progressive variators, it was necessary to look for a little more power, and this is how the AV7 engine was born. It was only dethroned many years after its release by the appearance of the AV10 with its intake system using reed valves in the crankcase... it had to hold its own against the competition from the 103 and its powerful engine. In short, if you "find" an old moped, whether it's Motobécane or Motoconfort, you're likely to come across this AV (or AU for Motoconfort) 7 engine. The Workshop therefore offers you a series of two videos covering the disassembly of this engine, starting from a model that's already "mature." Once again, disassembling these engines requires a bit of equipment, dexterity, and patience. So if you're not up for it, don't hesitate to bring your engine in for repair ;) Also, be aware that parts specific to these engines (and some of them in particular) are impossible to find new and increasingly difficult to find in good used condition... all the more reason to proceed with caution! With these "recommendations" out of the way, here's the first episode! Link to the specific tools used in the video: Magnetic bowl: https://shop.atelierdelavigne38.fr/ou...
