They both have to be responsible towards each other. One instance in the New Testament mentions of a husband and a wife deciding to lie to the Holy Spirit. Both of them could have stopped each other from sinning, but they didn't do that. As a result, both died a terrible death. We too have to inspire our partner to walk in the fear of God.
