History and work of the Ellen G. White Estate - James R. Nix

In this presentation, Elder James R. Nix talks about the history and the work of the Ellen G. White Estate. James R. Nix is Director of the Ellen G. White Estate, General Conference. He has written several books and articles on the history of our church. In 1981 he helped establish, and currently chairs, the board of Adventist Heritage Ministry that operates four Adventist heritage sites, including Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA. In 1972 Loma Linda University hired Nix to develop a Heritage Room of which he became director in 1974. Two years later he supervised the opening of an Ellen G. White Research Center, which became a Branch Office of the White Estate in 1985. He was ordained as a Seventh-day Adventist minister in 1994 and became director of the Ellen G. White Estate in 2000. His leadership has been noted by his strong reticence to have Ellen G. White's unpublished writings made available. In 2015, Nix was responsible for opening a "world class" visitor center at the General Conference, the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
