I Made a Seax / Survival knife / mini seax and not a Tanto from Old Rasps and basic tools #bushcraft

In this video I take a single old rasp and turn it into three handmade knives using simple tools and a homemade forge. Plus a survival knife Im working on The main focus is on the two smaller utility knives, forged from an offcut of the same rasp used to make the larger seax. Every blade started life as the same piece of high carbon steel. The steel was annealed in my DIY "poor man's forge" before being hand shaped using files and a flap disc on an angle grinder. Once the blades were finished, they were oil quenched to harden the steel before final grinding and sharpening. The two smaller knives are finished with unique birch bark and epoxy resin handles, giving each one its own character. The larger survival knife and seax feature wooden handles that were carefully burned to bring out the grain before being sealed with natural beeswax. This project shows that you don't need expensive equipment to make quality knives—just patience, a few basic tools, and plenty of determination.
