This Snowy Colorado Lake Was Loaded With Lake Trout (Pikes Peak Backcountry)

We hiked deep into North Catamount Reservoir on Pikes Peak just outside of Colorado Springs after two straight days of snow… and the views were unreal. The mission was simple: jig Kastmasters for lake trout and see if the bite turned on after the weather moved through. Safe to say it absolutely did. We caught lake trout after lake trout while surrounded by fresh snow and some of the best scenery Colorado has to offer. From the snowy hike in to nonstop laker action, this was one of those days you never forget.
