Cotopaxi - Ecuador's Largest Active Volcano | Traveling Coronavirus Ecuador

Cotopaxi is one of the largest active volcanoes in the world. It last erupted just 5 year ago, covering areas as far as Quito in ash. Luckily, no lava flowed during that eruption, but the fear of "the big one" is always in the minds of the people that live around it. Our visit to Cotopaxi National Park included an experienced guide, who has been to the top 27 times. She discusses: what it's like to live under the shadow of Cotopaxi, how she felt when it erupted (she was halfway up the volcano the day before), climbing mountains in Ecuador, and more. During the time of Covid-19, Cotopaxi was closed up until just a few weeks ago. The park is taking the temperature of everyone who enters. Parts of the park are still closed, but we were able to do a beautiful hike around Limpiopungo Lake. We saw wild horses, all kind of birds, and some unique vegetation.
