Man-e-faces has always been one of my favorite He-Man characters! He is has mystique and creepiness that always raised questions in my mind! See I want to take you into the gist of his origin story, that’s absolutely insane, but I am passionate about this character, so let me give you guys a little bit of background before we jump into his many origins! Mark Taylor’s creation of Man-e-faces early concept was inspired by ancient Mesoamerican warrior imagery, which helps explain Man-E-Faces’ strange, ceremonial, almost mythic look. At the same time, Mattel appears to have fused that visual idea with an older face-changing toy mechanic, giving the figure a gimmick that instantly made him stand apart from the rest of the line.
