The valley was formed by the erosion of huge granite rocks by clear streams, and the streams flowing through the virgin forest create numerous waterfalls, giving it a mystical charm. The beauty of the valley is truly overwhelming, with various waterfalls such as NanatsugamaGodan Falls, a famous waterfall selected as one of the "100 Best Waterfalls in Japan," Mie Falls, Ryujin Falls, Koito Falls, and Sadaise Falls. Nishizawa Valley has also been proven to have a relaxing effect of forest bathing, and has been certified as a forest therapy base.
