Crash Course in the Queen's Gambit Declined | Climbing the Rating Ladder vs. 1827

In this continuation of the "Climbing the Rating Ladder" series I take on players of various ratings levels while pointing out typical mistakes and spots for improvement along the way (possibly my own!? :)). Here I commentate a 10+0 game against a player rated 1827 on Chess.com. The Queen's Gambit Declined (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6) is a venerable defense that has featured in many World Championship matches over the decades. Usually both sides castle kingside relatively early, but in this game, my opponent attempts an aggressive setup characterized by ...Qd8-c7+ ...Bf8-d6 and chasing my dark-square bishop with ...g7-g5. Can Black really get away with this whilst castling queenside, though? This game gives us a good chance to investigate the intricacies of the QGD, as well as its association with the "Nimzo-Indian threat" move-order of 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6.
